After a burn, do you go again?

Verdict: yes. In the official rules, the player who burns the pile with a 10 or four of a kind immediately plays again on the empty pile. Some houses pass play on after a burn, which softens the 10 from a doubled turn into a mere eraser.

Why go-again is right

The burn is the game's jackpot and the free follow-up is the payout. Burn-then-dump is the engine of every great comeback, and knowing an opponent holds a 10 changes how everyone above a 9 behaves.

Our ruling

Burn and go again. If your table finds the 10 too mighty, "Burn ends your turn" is a house rule.
